After a fulfilling career as a certified procurement professional, I retired and found a new purpose. My lifelong love for children led me to become a substitute teacher, a role that offered a different kind of fulfillment than my previous work.
My greatest inspiration, however, comes from my four grandsons. Two of them, now eight-year-old twin micro-preemies, were born with Cerebral Palsy. One is non-verbal and the other has motor and speech impairments, but both are full of spirit. My other two grandsons are six and thirteen months old, and all four share an incredible bond of mutual support.
This strong family connection, and the boys' ability to overcome challenges, inspired me to become a new author and create the website ability-adventures.com. This venture is my way of documenting their amazing abilities, not disabilities. It's a deeply personal mission to share our family's story and celebrate their triumphs.
I am married and have a daughter and a son, plus three bonus children and a bonus grandson (another boy,of course). My daughter and my team, Deitre, is the mother of the lively group of four boys.

Motherhood & Mission
As the mother of four spirited boys, my hands are definitely full! My journey into motherhood began with my twin sons, who were born as micro-preemies and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy. My husband and I have also been blessed with a six-year-old and a thirteen-month-old.
Despite the challenges, the most remarkable thing about my boys is their powerful bond. They support each other in everything they do, a heartwarming testament to the empathy we've cultivated in our family. In a world that often focuses on individual success, our family finds strength in our collective support.
Educator & Advocate
I am a middle school teacher with a master's degree in education. In 2013, I was honored by the St. Louis American at their "Salute to Excellence in Education" event for my impactful work in the educational sector, promoting student success and community engagement.
Sharing Our Journey
My mother and I created this website to share our experiences, both the good and the bad, with other parents. We want to dissolve the term "disabilities" and instead celebrate our children's abilities. By sharing our story, we hope to connect with others who are navigating similar paths and to build a community where we can all find support and solutions together.
